Apprentice, Parts Marketing Apprentice

Supply parts from the stores, sales and marketing of spare parts and sundry items including toys and clothing.  Work and communicate with all parts of the business to make sure parts are ordered and supplied on time to meet the needs of the workshops and customers needs.

The role also involves supporting workshop and sales departments with service and sales leads etc.  Supporting Stores Manager with stock control.  The role will include gaining experience from all parts of the business including sales and marketing activities and engineering side of the business.

Works in stores with full time parts people, does some low level jobs whilst learning.

Salary levels vary widely depending on experience and on the employing organisation.  Trainees can expect to earn between £12,000- 15,000

An Apprenticeship and an Advanced Apprenticeship are available in Land-based Service Engineering. There are no set entry requirements for these Apprenticeships (although Advanced Apprentices who have not already achieved NVQ level 2, and do not intend to do so during the training programme, need to hold an equivalent qualification or need to have had substantial relevant occupational experience). You just need to be living in England and not taking part in full-time education.

Apprenticeships are open to all age groups (above 16yrs) whether you are just leaving school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career.

 It is important to:

  • be willing to keep up to date with changing technology

There are currently more than 3350 businesses in the industry in the UK. Much of the work is based in rural areas, but there are also many opportunities in towns and cities, especially for those technicians specialising in groundcare and garden machinery.

Many people enter this career through the national apprenticeship or an industry apprenticeship with a local dealer manufacturer. Entry requirements vary, but most employers expect four GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, including English, maths and science or technology along with ICT skills. 

Once a trainee has completed their training or are suitably experienced they will become a qualified Parts/Stores Person.
