To help you make the right choices on your career, we have used our latest research and close contacts with employers in the sector to give you the most up-to-date job information available. You can view:
- Job profiles that have been approved by industry
- Real life case studies of the people already working in the sector
- Maps to show what jobs you can aim for and where different jobs can lead
- Film clips ‘a day in a life of’ to find out what a typical day involves for different workers
Once you have looked through and found the career information you are looking for, you can also check out jobs and courses.

Career Finder will help you find information on job roles that relate most to your skills and/or areas of interests.
To get started simply choose the areas of the sector you are interested in by ticking the relevant boxes - animal welfare, environmental or land production.
The box above (what we call a tag cloud) will display a range of words – just click those that are most relevant to the type of careers you are looking for. The more words you choose will reduce the number of job descriptions below.
You can then decide which jobs from your results you would like to see in more detail.
If you change your mind and want to remove one of the words you have used you can simply click on the X in the search term box on the left hand side and then choose another word.
Alternately if you already know what you are looking for or have a specific type of job role then you can simply type into the search box on the left.
If you are looking to see where you can go in a career within the environmental and land-based industry or want to plan or progress you career, then you can find all the information you need in Career Pathways.
Simply choose one of the industries listed at the top of the screen to display a career map below, which highlightswhat paths a job could take you down.
Once you have found a job that interests you, click on the relevant box to find out a little more about what the job involves.
If what you see interests you then you can find all the information you need on areas such as the qualifications, experience as well as what you could be expecting to earn by clicking on the Go button in the bottom right hand corner of the box.
If you want to review other jobs, simply close the job information box to take you back to your pathway.
