Terms and Conditions
Following a similar format to the Principles of Vinegrowing course, this programme covers: harvesting the vintage; processing the grapes; controlling the alcoholic fermentation; red wine production; wine clarification; bottling and wine evaluation. Half of the teaching time is spent doing hands-on practical work in the college winery. The course focuses on the production of wine from grapes, although many of the techniques discussed can also be applied to other types of wine. It ends with a short multiple choice test, and follows on from Principles of Vinegrowing course, but can also be studied independently or concurrently.
