LandSkills Programme Manager, Julie Hamilton, said:  “LandSkills has been vitally important to farmers and growers in Yorkshire and Humber.  Over the last two years close to 10,000 LandSkills events have supported more than 4,750 of the region’s farmers, foresters and growers.  These workshops and discussion groups really help businesses improve their professionalism and their sustainability within the local economy, and I am thrilled that we can continue to help them develop.”

David Hugill, Chair of the LandSkills Industry Advisory Board, said: “At a time when food security regularly dominates world headlines, it is great to know that these hardworking businesses will continue to be supported, receiving funding to get the training and updating they need for business success.  This programme has already invested £1.6 million into these businesses, and we are pleased to continue offering this support.”

Julie continued: “Farmers, foresters and growers need to act now if they want their share of the £1 million for funding.  It’s not too late to increase your skills and help your business thrive in these difficult financial times.”
