The Lantra Awards logo even made an appearance as the instructor talked through the importance of health and safety.

Health and SafetyCountryfile visited a recent SHAD (Safety Health Awareness Day), where they used several scenarios to highlight the dangers to workers and the importance of proper procedure. It’s a sentiment echoed in a recent article on BBC Newsbeat.

“One in five British workplace deaths happens in agriculture even though farmers are only a tiny part of the working population.”BBC Newsbeat

It’s essential to be up to date with health and safety training in the land based and environmental industries. As the Sector Skills Council for the environmental and land based sectors, Lantra offers companies and workers guidance and training through their Lantra Awards awarding organisational arm.
