07/02/2012 - Apprenticeships are fast becoming the best way to get ahead or take your first step in your career.
So it’s great news that from April 2012, a £1500 incentive to take on a new apprentice will be available to small employers (under 50 staff).
The National Apprenticeship Service is going to provide these grants to up to 40,000 small or medium sized employers.
The grant is in addition to the training costs of the framework which, if an apprentice is aged between 16 and 18 are met in full (50% for 19-24 year olds).
The incentive will be abailable from April which will encourage small firms that don’t currently employ apprentices to take on a young apprentice aged 16 to 24.
