Jim Marshall with his gold medal at Hampton Court

Winning gold in the RHS Floral Marquee for his heritage Malmaison and Perpetual carnations, the Suffolk-based horticultural consultant said:  “I have shown my National Collection of Malmaison carnations in the Plant Heritage Marquee at Hampton for many years, but this is their first showing in the main Floral Marquee and I’m thrilled that the display was awarded a gold medal.”

Jim, who was a National Trust Gardens Advisor for 25 years, has made a significant contribution at Lantra Board level since 1998. He has also been chair of Lantra’s horticulture, landscaping and sports turf industry group.

Our Industry Partnership Manager, David Winn, said:  “Jim’s passionate about the Malmaison carnation and his business, Marshalls’ Malmaisons, is dedicated to nurturing such plants.  It’s terrific news that he’s been recognised by the RHS with this prestigious award.”
