20/12/2011 - Lantra’s research department was commissioned by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) to provide an authoritative account of skills, qualifications and training in the Game and Wildlife Management industry in Scotland.

Lantra’s primary research (based on a sample of 250 individuals involved in the industry) indicates that qualifications and skills are valued by respondents, with 86.1% stating that they recognise the importance of skills. Many respondents are actively engaged with their own professional development and are seeking to fill personal and industry skills gaps, with short specialist courses being favoured. Within the report respondents’ skills were mapped to National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Gamekeeping and Game and Wildlife Management to identify skills gaps.
