Rebecca O’Dwyer from Oaklands Farm, Bonvilston, Cardiff was named as the Farming Connect Learner of the Year winner in Lantra’s 2011 Land-based Learner of the Year Awards, for her dedication to training within the Agriculture industry. 

 

Nominated by Julie Thomas from Simply The Best Training Consultancy, Rebecca has always been interested in an agricultural career.  “I was raised on a family farm and went to agricultural college when I left school,” explained Rebecca.  “Working in a rural environment is all that has ever interested me.”

Kevin Thomas, Lantra National Director Wales, said:  “Rebecca is a great asset to the agricultural industry, which a love for farming in her blood.  She has been able to learn many new skills through Farming Connect, and as an Agrisgop Leader, she is able to share her passion with the rest of industry across Wales.   I would like to congratulate Rebecca and all of this years’ nominees for the outstanding work they do and the dedication they have to skills.”

Thrilled with this award, Rebecca is not planning on slowing down anytime soon.  “I want to continue on my lifelong learning path, and to expand my coaching skills. Fresh air and animals are what make me tick!”
