BSD Training Ltd has been carrying out forklift and plant and machinery training throughout Northern Ireland for the past 23 years and have built a reputation as being one of the leading plant and machinery trainers in the country.

Our purpose built training centre in Lisburn, Northern Ireland has a range of plant and machinery available aswell as the necessary site facilities to enable various awarding body accrediated training and assessments to be carried out.

CAWBI - Street Works qualifications in excavation and reinstatement in the highway were developed to meet the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act. There are 16 units, for operatives and supervisors. Holders of the relevant qualifications may act as qualified operatives or supervisors on site.



CPCS - The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is one of the largest and most recognised card schemes for the plant industry. It provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry. Since its launch in 2003 over 280,000 cards have been issued covering a wide range of plant categories.


CSR - The Construction Skills Register (CSR) is a register of construction workers living in Northern Ireland who have completed the industry approved CSR health and safety training course. The aims of the registration scheme are to raise standards of health and safety and provide recognition of skills, experience and qualifications attained.



Driver CPC - The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is a qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers. It has been introduced across Europe with the aim of improving road safety and helping to maintain high standards of driving.



ITSSAR - The Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register. Its sole function is to write and monitor training standards for a broad range of mechanical handling equipment including construction plant, crane operation, lifting and rigging operations, and slinging and signalling. This ensures that its registrants are delivering the highest quality of training within the workplace.



IPAF - The International Powered Access Federation. The IPAF training programme for platform operators is certified by TÜV as conforming to ISO 18878. More than 100,000 operators are trained each year through a worldwide network of over 600 training centres.


LANTRA - This training scheme is designed for those working within the horticulture, landscape or sports turf industry. This training is also transferrable and would be useful for people in a number of other areas including:

  • Land-based engineering
  • Forestry & arboriculture


OCR - Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations. We are approved to hold the Transport Managers examinations to allow you to apply for a transport Operators Licence



PASMA - Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association. It provides and governs the industry standard training scheme for mobile access towers.  deliver proficiency and competence as required by the Work at Height Regulations. For many, the PASMA certificate and ID card are the only acceptable proof of competence.


UKATA - United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association. UKATA sets standards in asbestos training and ensures that its members meet those standards.
