National Occupational Standards

National Occupational Standards for fencing have been developed with industry employers and training providers. They can help you to:

  • Prepare job advertisements and descriptions

  • Take on new areas of activity (by acting as a checklist)

  • Develop your organisation and improve your current practice.


They are the basis for the National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) in Fence Erection at Levels 2 and 3, and NVQ is available  in Fencing Business Management at Level 4 (click here for more details on NVOs and SVQs).
