Successful project to benefit women in male dominated
industries is set to continue
The Women and Work project is to be extended thanks to its success at
providing part-funded training to women under-represented within some
industries within the environmental and land-based sector.

Over 50 schools given go-ahead to teach Diploma
Some 51 partnerships of schools, colleges and employers across
England
have been given the green light by the government to teach the new Diploma
in Environmental and Land-based Studies from 2009.

Farming Connect skills development update
Demand for Farming Connect Skills Development programme’s 50% support
toward the cost of training and assessment has proved so great, that
Lantra has worked with the Welsh Assembly Government to secure funding
that will support a further 2,500 places.

Lantra Wales new call centre
The high volume of livestock keepers seeking support from the Farming
Connect Skills Development Programme to part fund costs associated with
meeting the new Welfare of Animals in Transit (WAIT) legislation, has
resulted in a dedicated call centre being established at the Lantra
Wales office.
