Lantra is driving forward the new skills and business development agenda for the UK environmental and land-based sector.

Lantra represents the skills and business development interests of 17 related industries clustered around:
- Land management and production
- Animal health and welfare
- Conservation and management of the natural environment

In Wales, Lantra represents the interests of over 19,000 businesses with a total workforce  in excess of 70,000 employees and 11,000 volunteers, representing 7% of the total land-based workforce.

Farming Connect Funding Success

"Lantra are delighted with the level of support offered towards training for farmers and growers in Wales, through the Farming Connect programme" says Richard Thomas. "In testimony to this, over 10,000 course places received support, demonstrating the commitment of the industry to keeping their skills up-to-date".

Farming Connect is supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, delivered by the Welsh Assembly Government and partners including the Forestry Commission, Countryside Council for Wales, Environment Agency Wales and Welsh Local Government Association.

Sector Skills Agreement for Wales

Our Sector Skills Agreement (SSA) is an agreement between employers, governments, partner organisations and Lantra to deliver agreed action plans for each of our 17 industries to meet the priority skill needs of the sector.

Draft Welsh Language Scheme consultation

In accordance with the Welsh Language Act 1993, Lantra has prepared an individual Welsh Language Scheme setting out how it proposes delivering services to you in Welsh.  Comments are invited from Welsh speakers and other members of the public who may be affected by the scheme.
