Training

Your options – how can you improve your skills?

The skills needs of the industry are changing. In order to get to, or stay at, the top of your profession, you need to adapt too.

Training isn't simply about going on a course and forgetting about it. It's an ongoing process – learning while you work, taking short courses to help you learn new skills as and when you need them, looking at others within the industry and learning from them and their experiences.

There are a whole range of learning options – from online courses and vocational qualifications right through to conferences, exhibitions, talks, training groups and knowledge-sharing business meetings. All of these can make you look at how you work and consider ways in which you can improve.

Consider the options below. It's likely that you'll use some or all of them in your future working life. In particular, look at the case studies of real people within your industry. They have all improved their work, their employability and their careers by being adaptable and learning new skills.
