Lantra, with the support of key industry organisations, is undertaking research to more fully understand the size and the scope of the UK's equine industry.
This research is multi-tiered, including a telephone interview for businesses and employers and an online employee survey. In addition, there will likely be a number of tailored events, such as focus groups.
The Census results are now being collated, and the final report document will be available to download from this page.
For this research, Lantra plans:
- To identify employment numbers for businesses working within the equine industry
- To identify the extent of employment vacancies
- To identify key workforce characteristics
- To identify the number of individuals working within specific job roles
- To identify the levels of skills gaps and the levels of training that are undertaken within the equine industry
- To identify how employment numbers have and will change in the future.
