Who is Lantra?
  • Lantra is the Sector Skills Council for environmental and land-based industries and works with 17 industries across the whole of the United Kingdom.

What do we do?
  • Raise employer engagement, demand and investment in skills

  • Ensure authoritative labour market information specific to the sector

  • Develop National Occupational Standards and ensure qualifications meet the needs of employers.

  • Influence government policies and investment decisions as advised by the sector

  • Support individuals entering or progressing in employment

  • Influence and shape learning provision so that it meets the needs of employers and learners alike.

What does Lantra stand for?
  • The name Lantra is formed from the words 'land' and 'training'.  The individual letters do not stand for separate words.

What is Lantra Awards?
  • Part of the Lantra Group of companies is Lantra Awards which specialises in qualifications and training for people in the land-based sector through a network of local approved centres and training providers, and has more than 30 years experience in this field.

     

    Lantra Awards is an approved NVQ/SVQ and VQ awarding body.  It incorporates the former National Fencing Training Authority and its training and qualifications in fencing means that it also works closely with the highways industry.

     

    Lantra Awards is one of a number of awarding bodies servicing the environmental and land-based sector. 

Can Lantra offer spokespeople/speakers?
  • Yes on occasions we can provide speakers, depending upon the event and previous commitments.  Please email your enquiry with details of the event and it will be forwarded to the relevant department.

Can I be signed up to receive press releases?
  • Yes.  To register your interest in receiving releases, please fill out this form.

Does Lantra have a magazine?
  • We publish Connect Magazine three times a year, with news relating to our industries.  While we do welcome outside news submissions, space is quite limited.  Please email with your enquiries about submissions or deadlines.
