The name Lantra is formed from the words 'land' and 'training'. The individual letters do not stand for separate words.

Part of the Lantra Group of companies is Lantra Awards which specialises in qualifications and training for people in the land-based sector through a network of local approved centres and training providers, and has more than 30 years experience in this field.

Lantra Awards is an approved NVQ/SVQ and VQ awarding body. It incorporates the former National Fencing Training Authority and its training and qualifications in fencing means that it also works closely with the highways industry.

Lantra Awards is one of a number of awarding bodies servicing the environmental and land-based sector.
