Lantra celebrates CEU recognition for training courses

Lantra has been working with the Arboricultural and the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) to gain Continuing Education Unit (CEU) recognition for its training courses.

This will enable arborists who have completed an ISA credential, such as the ISA Certified Arborist, to maintain that certificate by completing Lantra courses.  In the case of CEUs, the emphasis is on the training, and not on any subsequent qualifications.

The report provides summaries of the fatalities and also outlines how straightforward steps, such as safe stop procedures for tractors and machines, or planning and  selecting equipment to carry out work at height, can make a real difference to improving safety.

On his birthday, Lantra Awards instructor Brian Megahey from Ballyutoag Training arrived at the family farm to put Ryan through a Lantra Awards accredited Tractor Driving course. This came about as Ryan’s parents wanted to ensure that he was properly trained in all aspects of operating the farm’s tractors safely. In fact, the farm’s insurers wanted proof that Ryan had been on a proper training course.
