Bringing forward the review of apprenticeship frameworks

The Policy, Research and Development team are bringing forward the review of apprenticeship frameworks in order to identify the need for apprenticeships in each of Lantra's 17 industries.

The research will also provide Lantra with up-to-date statistics and where necessary enable the revision of the frameworks in order to meet the needs of the industry.

The research will help Lantra to identify which industries find the apprenticeships unsuitable allowing them to be phased out.

Four frameworks were identified as a priority in the Sector Qualifications Strategy (SQS).  These are:

  1. Agriculture Crops and Livestock, including mixed farming

  2. Amenity Horticulture

  3. Production Horticulture

  4. Animal Care

As a result of this a questionnaire is being developed and will be sent out to providers and employers in the UK, to establish the relevance, awareness, quality and value of the apprenticeship route.

Once the feedback has been collated from the questionnaire, working groups will be launched to review the framework content and establish clean statistics for the framework rationale.
