Lantra’s Online Competence Framework (OCF) is currently being used as part of a new pilot project within four councils in Northern Ireland.
Newtownabbey, Dungannon, Antrim and Craigavon Borough Councils will use the tool to record the skills of their employees who currently work within their parks and green space departments. Use of the OCF allows the Councils to record the skills, qualifications and Continued Professional Development activity of their employees, as well as highlight any skills 'gaps' so that appropriate training and development can be undertaken.
The project, which has already received positive feedback, is due to finish in April and if considered successful, will roll out to other councils in Northern Ireland.
