One Life Live

Lantra was thrilled to attend the One Life Live exhibition at the Olympia, London from 29 February to 2 March 2008. The exhibition was aimed at those searching for a different career and had over 17,000 people in attendance over the three days.

Together with the London Development Agency, Lantra was pleased to offer those who attended the exclusive opportunity to register on Lantra’s On-line Competence Framework (OCF) for free. The OCF offered a fantastic way of allowing the potential career changer to search and identify the variety and scope of job roles the environmental and land-based sector has to offer, and to providing detailed information of what the kind of tasks the job may involve.

It also enabled them to compare their current skills to those required by the job, highlighting those that were transferable into their potential new role, as well as identifying new areas of skill for development.

In addition, all those that registered on the system were automatically entered into a prize draw to win a £50 gift voucher of their choice. The winner, picked at random by Lantra’s Chief Executive Peter Martin, was Isobel Henderson from Walthamstow, London, who had attended Lantra’s stand to enquire about careers in Game and Wildlife Management.
