Lantra names first Scottish ambassadors

A farmer, a crofter and an estate manager were amongst those named as the first ever Lantra Skills Ambassadors.

The Ambassadors will help other farmers, employers and employees to fully realise the business benefits of training and skills development and also help attract high quality new entrants to the sector.

The Ambassadors are: Caroline Millar from Balkello Farm near Auchterhouse; Crofter John Bannister from Skye, John McMyn of Blawearie Farm, Kirkhouse; Gavin Dick of Keir Estates and Sandy Thomson of Westpark Farm, Aberfeldy.

Lantra Scotland Director, Willie Fergusson, said "Supporting the work of our existing industry groups, these individuals will help us to reach a wider audience across Scotland, ensuring that everyone in the sector can benefit from training and have a say in how skills are developed in their industry or local area. We have been delighted with the initial response to this scheme and have several more Ambassadors in the pipeline."
