LANTRA'S ENGLAND CHAIR TO MEET PARTY LEADERS

Richard Longthorp, Lantra's Chair for England and the driving force behind the AgriSkills Strategy, is one of a select group of businessmen invited to meet and question all three of the UK's political party leaders when they visit Yorkshire (11 March).

The Yorkshire-based pig farmer will raise skills issues and the strategic importance of the land-based sector for "UK PLC" at each of the meetings with the Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the Conservative leader, David Cameron and Nick Clegg, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, as part of the run-up to the UK General Election this spring.  Read more...

Women and Work Awards 2010

A training grant worth £450 will be offered to 670 women working in male dominated environmental and land-based industries in England, it was announced yesterday (10 March) at the first ever Women and Work Awards.

 

The awards, held at Nailcote Hall, Warwickshire, celebrated the achievements of a number of women working in male dominated industries.  Read more...
