Lantra has launched an accredited course in the Installation of Artificial Grass Surfaces, in partnership with Surrey-based Landscaping company Evergreens UK Group.
The two-day industry recognised award will be delivered at a dedicated facility, the Evergreens UK National Training Academy in Rutland, East Midlands. Along with the installation process, the course also covers how to select the right grass, drainage solutions, which tools and equipment to use and how to carry out routine maintenance.
Once completed, a Lantra certificate of competence will be awarded along with a Skills Identity Card. The course will also enable attendees to apply for the blue skilled worker LISS/CSCS card.
Lantra Head of Industry Partnerships (Landscaping and Agriculture) David Fisher commented: “Lantra Awards is delighted to welcome Evergreens UK to the network of Lantra approved training providers. The new training course covering the installation of artificial grass surfaces will ensure learners are trained to the highest standard in grass installation.”
Evergreens UK Sales and Marketing Director Andy Driver said: “In 35 years of trading, we have seen some, quite frankly, horrific efforts from so-called ‘experts’, and the sector deserves better. The installation should enhance the product and customers should feel confident when choosing an installer to complete their project.
“By launching this technical award, we hope that the market and customers will benefit from a more professional service and finish and prevent ‘cowboy’ installations from taking place. As the popularity of artificial grass continues to grow, so does the demand for people who can install it in both a safe and competent manner,” he said.
