NFU Mutual announces this year's Tidy Farm Award winners

The NFU Mutual has revealed the winners for the "Tidy Farm Awards 2020" via a special video announcement from Martin Malone, NFU Mutual Manager for Northern Ireland.

Samuel Allen at Droghed Farms claimed first place in the dairy category, with Ruth Bleakley at Ballaghneed Shorthorns scooping the top place in the beef and sheep category.

Winners in Scotland included Old Walls Farm, Langside Farm, Balmydown Farm and Luffness Mains with Rhual Dairy awarded the top Wales prize.

The award, which returned for the third year in Northern Ireland, celebrates the importance of a maintaining a safe working environment on the farm for workers, families and visitors.

Due to the pandemic, this year's awards were carried out in a slightly different way. With physical farm visits cancelled, judging was held via virtual walkarounds, accompanied up to eight photo submissions.
