As a leading UK Awarding Organisation, Lantra is dedicated to ensuring those working in the land-based sector have the skills and knowledge they need to work safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
We have an enviable reputation for developing some of the most highly respected and nationally recognised training in the sector but, in such a diverse environment, covering every specialist requirement is not a realistic option.
We do however appreciate that there are specialist organisations who do develop bespoke courses to address those niche sector requirements, and that’s why we’ve developed our Customised Awards programme.
About Lantra Awards Provision
We’re keen to work with professional and industry recognised organisations like you who want to demonstrate the quality of their own training courses to both their existing and prospective customers.
Having your courses quality assured and accredited by Lantra, provides you with an independent mark of quality and your successful Learners with a Lantra Awards Certificate.
Through our Customised Awards programme, you retain ownership and control of your course. You can review it at any time to make sure it stays current and fit for purpose.
As you’d expect, to participate in the Customised Awards programme, both your organisation and your course will need to meet a range of criteria to ensure Lantra’s quality standards are met.
Customised Awards Criteria
Lantra will firstly undertake assessments to ensure both your organisation and the course you wish to be accredited ticks all the necessary boxes. This assessment & course review is completed over a period of around 4 weeks.
Once you’ve successfully completed the application approval process, you can promote your courses on our website to help with greater visibility and an improved reach to potential Learners when they search for courses by keywords or by industry. There's also an option to add your course booking dates to the website listings if you run regular courses open to the public.
Once you have a Customised Award approved, we take a risk-based approach to quality assurance. The level of risk depends on various factors including the subject matter, the potential impact on others (including animals), and the volume of training activity.
Our quality assurance activity may involve a desk-based audit where we ask you to provide certain documents, or it may be a site visit, arranged at a time when the course is being delivered.
The quality audit seeks to confirm that:
• your course is being delivered in the way that you have described it to us
• you are effectively operating to the policies and procedures that you have provided
• the facilities and equipment are fit for purpose and
• any assessments provide a clear evidence trail for decisions made
