LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and Lantra Collaborate to Support the Farming Sector

29th January 2026

LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and Lantra have announced a new joint pilot to embed Integrated Farm Management (IFM) into land-based college and training courses across the UK.

Empowering Farming through Sustainability

The collaboration aims to strengthen the skills pipeline needed to support a more sustainable, productive and resilient farming sector.

As the awarding and accreditation body for the land-based industries, Lantra will lead the development of curriculum content and training approaches, drawing on LEAF’s practical expertise in sustainable farming. Together, the organisations will design and test learning resources that give new entrants - and those already working in the sector - the skills required to adopt IFM across real-world farming systems.

Nick Juba, Chief Executive of Lantra, said:

“If we want a more sustainable farming sector, education has to keep pace with the realities on farm. Working with LEAF to embed Integrated Farm Management into land-based learning will help equip future farmers with the practical skills they need to succeed.”

LEAF Chief Executive, David Webster, added at their conference:

“The future of farming is driven by collaboration. By working with trusted partners across education, technology and industry, we can help turn the shared ambition to make sustainability integral to farming systems worldwide into practical, effective action.”
