Pruning trees can't often be done from the ground.
This qualification covers the pruning of trees at height be it from a rope and harness or from a MEWP.
For professional chainsaw operators working in forestry and arboriculture the industry recommendation is that for ’high risk‘ activities the minimum level of adequacy of training is to a certificate of competence or nationally recognised qualification where assessment is carried out independently of the training. This qualification meets this requirement’

Our Assessors will assess you on a range of practical activities covering all aspects of tree pruning.
This qualification is nationally recognised and registered with Ofqual.
Upon completion you will gain a card and a nationally recognised certificate.
Quality Assurance policies are in place to ensure that all assessments meet the independent assessment requirements for this sector.

Who should attend?
If you are over the age of 16 and wish to develop your knowledge, understanding, and skills, and require proof of competence within your field of expertise then this course is suitable for you.
It doesn't matter if you are entering a place of work or have already established yourselves in a role.
You may already be using your skills across a range of trees and timber operations however, this qualification will enable you to become a more confident worker meeting the current standards of good working practice.
Due to the nature of this qualification a minimum level of fitness would be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage anybody it is an essential requirement.
What will be covered?
At the end of this assessment you will have demonstrated that you can:
- Promote Health and safety and industry good practice
- carry out aerial pruning of a tree
- Understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice.
