Welcome to Canine Anatomy and Physiology E-Learning course. Anatomy refers to the internal and external structures of the body and their physical relationships, whereas physiology refers to the study of the functions of those structures.

This course was developed in conjunction with Stef Watts and Kirsty Tysoe of Your4legs Therapy Training School and Complementary Therapies.

 

The finer details

The aim of this course is to give you a good overview of the key anatomy systems of the dog. It consists of 6 modules, each followed by a short assessment.

Assessments takes approx 10-20 minutes and you have 5 attempts each.

  • Introduction and soft tissue - muscles, tendons and fascia.
  • Skeleton, joints and canine movement.
  • Canine nervous system, nutrients and digestion.
  • The urinary system, respiratory & cardiovascular systems and canine thermoregulation.
  • The canine reproductive system and the endocrine system.
  • Canine senses and organs - skin and touch, eyes and sight, ears and hearing and nose and smell.
