On completion of this course you will be aware of the Enhanced Mobile Carriageway Closures including
- the Purpose of a Temporary Traffic Free Zone and Planning for Temporary Traffic Free Zones.
- The safety requirements of the EMCC
- Signage for the EMCC
- Planning required for the EMCC
- The operational procedures and uses of the EMCC
- Dealing with incidents and incursions
- The assessment process to become a qualified EMCC operator.
You will be issued with an awareness only e-certificate which is valid for 2 years.
Please note that EMCC Awareness training status does not supersede the TTMBC in the approval of NHSS12 courses.

Who should attend?
All persons needing to be aware of Enhanced Mobile Carriageway Closures and for those wishing to progress to EMCC Operator practical assessments.

Progression to EMCC Operators Skilled Worker (Assessments)
The pre-requisites to undertake EMCC Operator Assessments are
- must hold a valid NHSS 12AB General Operative Skilled Worker category.
- must hold a valid EMCC Awareness training course certificate.
It is recommended that the EMCC Operator will have gained a at least 6 months experience of regular participation in Static TTM on dual carriageways and motorways.
It is important that they can understand verbal communications from the appointed LTMO or Foreman, relating to the execution of EMCC.
You will be required to complete a minimum of 1 live assessment consisting of 3 units. Once you have started the assessment process you have 2 years to complete the assessment.
Once the Assessments are successfully completed the EMCC Operator skilled worker e- cerfticate is valid for 5 years.
