This training will enable you to develop your competence in chainsaw maintenance; to work safely, effectively and efficiently, reducing unnecessary risks to yourself and others.
The following units are available:
- Maintenance for liquid fuel-powered chainsaws
- Maintenance for battery-powered chainsaws.
Course description:
Who should attend?
This course is ideal for those wishing to obtain a Licence to Practice, as this course can help you proceed to the Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance.
This course is designed for any person who is, or will be required to carry out chainsaw maintenance. This may include, but is not exclusive to those involved in industries such as:
- Forestry
- Arboriculture
- Agriculture
- Horticulture
- Woodland Industries
- Local Authorities
- Conservation
- Construction
- Land-based industries.
What will be covered?
This training covers the following areas:
- working safely
- relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice.
- carrying out maintenance of the chainsaw and cutting system
- operational chainsaw checks.
In one or both of the following pathways:
liquid fuel-powered chainsaws
- battery-powered chainsaws.
