This one-day, attendance-only course focuses on the safe handling of plant protection products and granular materials used in drone-based operations. It covers legal responsibilities, PPE, mixing and filling procedures, spill prevention, decontamination, waste handling and safe storage, and is intended as a foundational training step prior to progression into assessed drone application qualifications.

  • Legal responsibilities for the handling of plant protection products and granules in drone-based operations
  • Overview of drone spray and spread systems as they relate to mixing, filling and cleaning only
  • COSHH principles and PPE selection for liquid and granular products
  • Safe mixing and filling procedures for liquid spray tanks used on unmanned aircraft
  • Safe handling and loading procedures for granular hoppers used on unmanned aircraft
  • Spill prevention, emergency response and contamination control
  • Decontamination and cleaning of spray and spread modules
  • Waste handling, disposal and safe storage of equipment and materials

 

Delivery method:

The course is delivered as a one-day, attendance-only programme through tutor-led presentations, demonstrations, guided walkthroughs and group discussion.
There is no operational flying, no application activity and no competence assessment included in this course.
