Industry overview

Everyone is entitled to work in a safe place – employers are legally obliged to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees. On average, around 11,000 workers suffer from work-related ill health every year. In agriculture, forestry and fishing, musculoskeletal disorders are the most frequent type of work-related illness.

All workers, including contractors and self-employed people, need to know how to work safely, without risking their health. Employers must give workers clear instructions, information and training to help them do this.

We’ve developed a range of health and safety courses and qualifications to help employers keep their people safe.
