Spotlight on Veterinary Nursing

One of the highlights of the day was the inspiring keynote speech delivered by Louise Grieve, who captivated the audience with her insightful and thought-provoking talk on human factors. Her speech struck a powerful chord, highlighting the importance of understanding the human side of veterinary care, from communication and teamwork to well-being and resilience. Graduates and guests alike praised her talk as both inspiring and deeply relevant to their professional journeys.

Nick Juba, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer at Lantra, welcomed the audience and offered his congratulations to the graduates prior to presenting them with their certificates. In his speech, he acknowledged the hard work and perseverance required to reach this point and recognised the vital role that Veterinary Nurses play in animal care and welfare.

Lantra were delighted to welcome Julie Dugmore, Director of Veterinary Nursing at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), to the stage to lead the newly qualified nurses through their Professional Declaration. This solemn and meaningful moment underscored the responsibility and professionalism expected of veterinary nurses and marked the formal beginning of the graduates' journey status as Registered Veterinary Nurses.
