Lantra's Horticulture Manager Recognised in HortWeek Power List 2025

Sarah Gould, Lantra’s Horticulture Manager, has been recognised in the 2025 HortWeek Power List for her leadership of the Tyfu Cymru (Growing Wales) project which came to an end in 2023.
Sarah also leads on the Horticulture Programme that is delivered through Farming Connect, a Welsh Government programme providing advice, training, and knowledge exchange to help food businesses become more resilient, profitable, and sustainable.

Sarah's Career in Horticulture
Sarah has been working at Lantra for 20 years, working on a range of projects to support growers and the horticulture workforce across Wales to:
- Access training
- Develop their skills
- Facilitating commercial horticulture businesses to be more productive, profitable and prepared for challenges ahead.
The Importance of Horticulture in the UK
The horticulture industry contributes £38bn to the UK economy and continues to grow. Skilled horticulturalists are essential for seeing the industry thrive, from food producers to ornamental growers. By investing in training to develop skills and knowledge, the sector can ensure that it has a steady flow of skilled professionals, helping to maintain the growth.
