About

By attending this course, you will be able to fulfil your Red Tractor Farm Assurance and supermarket contract requirements. It will help you to understand and recognise the differences between vaccines and treatments, how to use them safely and responsible in animals under your care.

The finer details

The aim of this course is to help you to better use the medicines available to you. At the end of the day, anything that helps prevent disease, speed up recovery and use less medication can only save money and time; two of the most precious commodities of any farming business. And it goes without saying, at the heart of your business is the stock that you care for; safeguarding their health and welfare is paramount.

We, as individual producers, can also do our part to help protect the future of our industry. The growing threat of antimicrobial resistance is something that cannot be overlooked; it’s no longer a theoretical risk – it is happening now. Knowing how to use medicines safely and effectively on your farm helps both your individual enterprise and the wider industry as well.
