This 3-day Natural Stone & Porcelain Paving Lantra-accredited course has been developed to provide delegates the opportunity to learn new skills in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The course combines theory, practical training and assessment to provide learners with the in-depth knowledge and skills needed to install Natural Stone and Porcelain paving to BS7533 standards and industry recommendations.

All 3 days of the course have a combination of:
- Hands-on training throughout the day, to provide learners with real-world practical experience that can be utilised when on site.
- Practical assessments throughout to ensure competent understanding of each task & subject.

What will be covered?
This 3-day training programme combines theory and practical training to ensure the learner has a full understanding of the installation methods required for each stage of natural stone and porcelain paving construction. The attendee will gain:
- A comprehensive knowledge of health and safety requirements for site, working with dangerous equipment and professional and compliant working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- An understanding and in-depth product knowledge of various natural stone and porcelain paving products and consideration for their applications.
- Full understanding of selecting the correct materials to meet specifications and industry recommendations.
- Full understanding of setting out paving in accordance with industry standards, including artisanal skills and modern techniques to provide a full range of abilities for all circumstances.
- Full understanding of sub-base requirements for paving products to meet industry standards, including excavation, waste and sub-base construction methods.
- Full understanding and knowledge required to set and calculate appropriate fall rates for paving products to meet industry standards for surface water run-off.
- An understanding of mortar mixes, bedding layer and bridging bonds in preparation of the installation of paving.
- Full understanding of the requirements and legality of cutting and shaping paving products using machinery, working with natural stone and using skilled stone craft techniques.
- An understanding of joint sizing for both natural stone and porcelain paving products, the use of jointing compounds and various techniques for the products.
- The skill to effectively install large areas of paving to industry standards on unbound (MOT) compacted sub-base.
- Practical assessments throughout to ensure competent understanding.
- A full understanding of the aftercare and maintenance requirements for natural stone and porcelain paving products.
