Invasive species can dominate a habitat and effectively eliminate many native wild plants from the habitat. Invasive plants can create monocultures affecting grazing land, woodland, urban environments and areas of wildlife interest.
Japanese knotweed can damage structures and its presence can prejudice property sales & mortgage applications.
Giant Hogweed causes severe blistering/burns to skin if brushed against. Some of these plants have few or no natural enemies in the UK.
The need for effective methods of control are required by Local Authorities, Farmers, Conservation Groups, Utilities, Natural Resources Wales and Home Owners etc.
